Firecracker, or Cracker, was born in the
spring of 2003. After a nerve-wracking kittenhood as an outdoor
cat so inquisitive it's a wonder he survived. He moved into a
foster-home for his own safety. He's still inquisitive, lively,
independent, and increasingly handsome and affectionate as he
matures.
As a youngster, Cracker had a chronic upper respiratory infection.
It is now controlled by daily doses of lysine (from the nearest
health food store or supermarket), mixed with his meals so that
administering it is painless. Although one veterinarian thought his
sniffles were contagious, he hasn't infected his housemates.
Cracker tested negative for feline leukemia and AIDS and is current
on vaccinations. He has always liked dogs and people and has
learned to like most other cats.
Firecracker
will be placed as an indoor cat only, and an application is required. To
get an application form or for more information, please e-mail
mmgrow@yahoo.com or call 207-968-2121. There is no adoption fee, but
donations are appreciated to help care for other stray cats.
